Our People

Helping people to feel good is what we’re all about and that doesn’t just stop with our customers. We pride ourselves on looking after our people too but, don’t just take our word for it, here’s what some of our people have to say about what it’s like to work for Boots Hearingcare.

"My first placement was back in the Belfast store where I worked alongside my experienced mentor Joanne. It was great having someone looking out for you as when you qualify you have lots of theoretical knowledge but yet have little experience dealing with people, an essential part of the job.

Boots Hearingcare is great; a well structured company where your goals are clearly defined and well balanced. There is a great support network in our Head Office, helping us stay compliant and busy. There is also a huge customer focus within the company where we are trained to look after our customers’ needs, which is hugely important."

"Even though I'd done my placements in the NHS, I chose to work in the private sector as I wanted to be able to offer more choice and support to my patients. Boots were very welcoming to the graduates and had clear plans of where we fit into the business. They discussed great opportunities for progression and offered a tremendous amount of support in the early days to help you settle in and make the transition from graduate to professional audiologist.

The best thing about my job is seeing a smile on a patient's face as they walk through the door on a follow up appointment. The feeling of reward and satisfaction knowing I helped transform their lives.

Boots Hearingcare is definitely the best choice if you want to work as part of a wider healthcare team, offer the best service to your patients and if you are looking to progress - there are plenty of opportunities available for those with a passion for their profession."

"I’ve been working with the company since January 2005 and 7 years on am still loving it.

Originally the company appealed to me because it shared my belief that by offering customers best advice and a high level of service success is sure to follow.

Internally the company culture is to treat employees fairly and with respect. We are expected to work hard but are rewarded well. The company invests in the development of their people as a key asset to the business; I joined the company as a Regional Sales Manager but in April this year I was promoted to Divisional Manager for the South.

With Boots Hearingcare I really feel that I am working for a forward thinking company which understands the Hearingcare market. The management team is young, dynamic and always open to new ideas; as a company we are officially 'never satisfied'. I am confident about my future at Boots Hearingcare, and excited to be working for a company that is constantly expanding and gaining market share."

"I like the environment of Boots Hearingcare and despite the fact that we’ve grown massively, and had to change the way we work to accommodate that growth, it’s still pleasant.

I started out at the company as basic IT support but as the department and company grew I was exposed to greater opportunity, training and development which has lead me to my current role of Data and Development Manager.

Most recently I successfully graduated from our ‘Management Development Programme’ which provides employees of the company exposure to the wider business and a foundation of training to develop their career into Management. I’m still learning each day and am excited about the future of the company and my career here."

"I trained as a hearing aid audiologist in 2007. A few years after my qualification I joined David Ormerod Hearing Centres. I liked the sound of this reputable company with a presence on the high street and the new challenges within the NHS contract interested me. My background in management and helping & caring for people seemed the perfect fit.

The support I have received during my time with the company is exceptional. All employees are given the support and encouragement to develop in their role through internal and external training. We are also given the opportunity to help shape the future of the business with schemes such as the employee panel, of which I am a member. This extension to my role helps me support to my colleagues and provides real job satisfaction."
